This is my go-to drinks during cold mornings when I feel terribly allergic with a sinus flare-up. It instantly soothes a sore throat and make you feel a ton better!
It contains probiotic-rich apple cider vinegar which is good for boosting the immune system as well as honey which helps calm your throat and has strong antibacterial and antiviral properties.
How to make an apple cider vinegar and honey drink for sore throat
What you need
- 8 oz hot water
- 2 teaspoons raw organic apple cider vinegar (where to get it)
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (where to get it)
Directions
- Pour piping hot water into a glass. Don’t boil, just make sure it’s comfortably hot.
- Now stir in 2 teaspoons of raw organic apple cider vinegar and 1 generous spoon of raw honey.
- Sip up for that much-needed sore throat relief.
2. Cinnamon Milk
One of my top 10 soothing drinks for sore throat is this oh-so-comforting cinnamon milk.
Substituting your morning coffee for this cinnamon milk can help your sore throat feel much better, at least until your sickness goes away. This cinnamon milk is so delicious yet very healing as well, because of its sore throat-busting ingredients.
How to make cinnamon milk for sore throat
What you need
- 1 cup of milk of your choice
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (where to get it)
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger (where to get it)
- 2 teaspoons raw honey (where to get it)
Directions
- In a stainless-steel saucepan, pour 1 cup of your favorite milk (could be dairy or non-dairy).
- Now add ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of ground ginger.
- Stir well with a whisk until combined.
- Allow the milk to boil to incorporate the ingredients properly.
- Turn off the heat and strain into a cup or mug.
- Stir in 2 teaspoons of honey.

According to Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric milk is very medicinal and has a lot of benefits for a variety of conditions.

- 1 cup of milk of your choice
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric (where to get it)
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (where to get it)
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (where to get it)
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla *optional (where to get it)
- A pinch of ground black pepper (where to get it)
- 2 teaspoons raw honey (where to get it)
Directions
- In a saucepan, pour in 1 cup of milk of your choice: it could be dairy or non-dairy milk.
- Next add all the ground herbs/spices. I normally don’t add vanilla but you could if you’d like.
- Whisk all ingredients to combine then put it on a stove over medium flame until it boils.
- Strain into a cup/mug then stir in 2 teaspoons of honey.
- Enjoy this creamy naturally sweetened drink for your sore throat!
4. Hot Toddy
A hot toddy is perfect for adults who want to get better quickly. It contains whisky so it’s not suitable for children or anyone who doesn’t drink alcohol.

What you need
- 2 oz whiskey

- 4 oz water
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 cube crystallized ginger (where to get it)
- 1 slice fresh lemon as garnish

- Mix together whiskey, water, and lemon juice in a microwave safe bowl.

- 8 oz hot water
- 1-2 teaspoons raw honey (where to get it)
Directions
- Grate one inch of fresh ginger and add it to a mug. If using dried, add 1 teaspoon to a mug.
- Pour boiling hot water on top and let it steep for a good 10 minutes.
- When the time is up, heat it till hot again then strain into the mug and stir in 1-2 teaspoons of raw honey. If using, dried ginger then there’s no need to strain.
- Sip it up hot.
7. Peppermint Tea
Another one of the best drinks for sore throat is peppermint tea. Peppermint is a cooling and refreshing herb that helps bring the inflammation down in your sore throat. It’s also antibacterial & antiviral so take a lot of peppermint tea to bring your raspy throat back to normal!

What you need
- 4 fresh sprigs of peppermint or 1 tablespoon dried peppermint (where to get it)

Directions
- Place 4 fresh sprigs of peppermint or 1 tablespoon of dried peppermint in a pot and add 1 cup of boiling water.

What you need
- One chicken or mutton liver, chopped
- 1 red onion
- 1 ripe tomato
- A handful of parsley
- A handful of mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (where to get it)

- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper (where to get it)
- Himalayan pink salt to taste (where to get it)
- 3 cups of water
- Pressure cooker (where to get it)
Directions
- Into a pressure cooker, add all ingredients except the ground turmeric and black pepper. I add about ½ teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt, then add more if needed after the liver soup is ready.
- Let it boil.
- Once boiled, close the pressure cooker and place it over medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Once the pressure has gone, open the cooker and check for salt. Next, add the ground turmeric and black pepper.
- Serve hot in a bowl or mug.
