7 Natural Remedies for Ovarian Cysts that Actually Work
1. Castor Oil
Castor oil is the best remedy for ovarian cysts, in my experience. It works because it is a discutient, which means it helps remove and dissolve abnormal growths, tumours, cysts in the body. You can use castor oil for ovarian cysts in two ways.
One is by rubbing it directly onto your ovaries – pour a dime sized of castor oil onto your palm, rub both palms together and apply it on your lower belly where the ovaries are located. Now you may lie down and place a hot water bottle on top of your abdomen to help the oil sink in deeper and alleviate pain as well.
The second way is by using a castor oil pack. To do this, pour 1/4 cup of castor oil into a bowl. Now soak a wool flannel into the castor oil until it is absorbed. Squeeze out the excess oil so that the flannel is not dripping. Your castor oil pack is ready! Place it on your lower abdomen and lay down. It is recommended to place a heating pad or hot water bottle on top of the flannel to allow the oils to penetrate deeper. Do this overnight preferably, and wear an oil T-shirt so that your clothes do not get stained.
2. Ginger Juice
Ginger juice is a surprising natural remedy for ovarian cysts – but it works! It contains strong anti-inflammatory properties that fight off inflammation and swelling. It also relieves pain and induces menstruation, which is helpful for those who experience painful or irregular menstrual periods.
Make a healthy juice by chopping up a 1 inch piece of ginger, 1 red apple and a handful of parsley and placing them into a juicer. Drink the juice everyday to see relief!
3. Epsom Salt
Epsom salts are amazing when it comes to relieving pain, swelling, bloating and inflammation. They are packed with magnesium sulfate, which relaxes the muscles, thereby alleviating pain.
To use epsom salts for ovarian cysts, simply add 1-3 cups to a warm or hot bath then soak for 10-15 minutes. You can do this once a week.
4. Beetroot Juice
Yes, beetroot juice is also great for shrinking ovarian cysts! It is a blood building food and contains a compound betcyanin that enables the liver to eliminate toxins from the body effectively.
Make a palatable and healthy drink by juicing half a beet, 1 red apple and 1 carrot using a high quality juicer. Drink up this goodness every day.

5. Black Seed Oil
Another natural remedy for ovarian cysts is black cumin seed oil. It is extracted from black cumin seeds, and contains so many beneficial nutrients for the human body! Some of the nutrients in it include beta sitosterol, thymoquinone, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, proteins and vitamins B1, B2 and B3. In ancient texts, black seed oil is said to be a cure for every disease except death.
You can take black seed oil both internally and externally. Make sure to buy 100% pure black seed oil.
To take internally, mix 1 teaspoon of black seed oil in a glass of orange juice. Or, take a teaspoon of black seed oil followed by a cup of warm milk, coffee or tea.
For external use, massage a dime sized amount of black seed oil on your lower belly right above the ovaries. Lie down and place a hot water bottle or heating pad on top of your abdomen. You can do this for 2-3 hours before bed.
6. Garlic
Garlic is a great remedy for many ailments. It is a natural antibiotic and has potent anti-inflammatory properties. Use it by crushing one garlic pearl and leaving it out for 15 minutes for the active compound allicin to form. Then carefully swallow it with water or milk. Do this everyday on an empty stomach a few minutes before breakfast.
7. Essential Oils
Essential oils are powerful against ovarian cysts. They are concentrated liquid essences of plant material. The essential oils for shrinking ovarian cysts include lavender, frankincense, geranium and cypress. Make sure to buy 100% pure high quality essential oils!
To use essential oils, make sure to always dilute them in a carrier oil (vegetable oil) first. Here is a powerful recipe for ovarian cysts: In a non-food use bowl, add 2 drops each of frankincense, lavender, geranium and cypress essential oils. Now add 4 tsp of castor oil. Mix together with a toothpick then transfer the blend into roller bottle using a syringe. To apply, roll the blend onto your lower belly 2 times a day.

Remember to consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cysts. Some ovarian cysts do need to be surgically removed because of complications due to ovarian torsion and other side effects of ovarian cysts.
