Anti-Anxiety Foods
I’m someone who’s been on anxiety meds a lot recently.
It’s a weird thing I have, even when I’m NOT anxious I get unexpected symptoms like my mouth or hands twitching when I’m interacting with people.
It sucks.
I’m sure you may have something like that and that’s why you’re here.
It’s scientifically proven that the gut directly impacts your brain.
There are certain foods that actually have properties that reduce anxiety.
Of course, leafy greens are a major one but there are others too – and this article uses these anti-anxiety superfoods hidden in a green smoothie to ease your symptoms.
We shall be using powerful anxiety-easing foods and superfoods like:
- Citrus fruits such as lemon: Vitamin C-rich foods help calm you and put you in a better frame of mind.
- Cashew nuts: A handful or two of these a day gives you enough tryptophan to alter and boost your mood!
- Ashwagandha powder: This Ayurvedic herb is best known for its stress-lowering, insomnia-fighting and anxiety-calming effects!
- Moringa powder: Research shows that moringa powder is helpful in treating anxiety, depression and fatigue.
- Turmeric powder: Turmeric may actually be just as effective as Prozac with little to no side effects, research suggests! That’s because of its active compound Curcumin which has been shown to boost dopamine & serotonin levels hence fighting anxiety & depression.
Okay, now onto the recipes! Here are three green smoothies for anxiety you should try:
