I actually find it hard to consume fruits because I’m scared of their sugar content and its relation with insulin resistance.
However, I realized fruits don’t have the same effect on blood sugar as sugary processed foods. Besides, if consumed in moderation, you won’t have to worry about raising your blood sugar.
Since I’m not a fan of eating fruit, juicing it or making smoothies is how I roll. So here are 3 juicing recipes for PCOS that you will surely find beneficial and tasty too!
Juicing Recipes for PCOS
1. Pink PCOS Juice
What you need
- 1 beet
- 1 apple
- 1 cucumber
- 1 carrot
- ½ lemon
- Masticating juicer
Directions
- Thoroughly cleanse the fresh vegetables and fruits to remove dirt.
- Next, peel the cucumber and beet. Scrape the skin off the carrot.
- Chop the beet, apple, cucumber and carrot into small pieces that will fit inside your juicer.
- Add the pieces into the juicer to extract fresh juice.
- Once extracted, squeeze in ½ of a fresh lemon. Stir well.
- Pour into a tall glass, pop in some ice cubes and enjoy!
2. Anti-Inflammatory Juice
What you need
- A handful of kale
- ½ small pineapple
- 2 celery sticks
- ½ inch ginger
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Masticating juicer
Directions
- Wash the kale, pineapple, celery and ginger root to remove any dirt.
- Next, peel the pineapple and ginger.
- Chop the pineapple and celery into pieces that will fit inside your juicer chute.
- Stuff the kale into the juicer chute and push it in with the pineapple and celery pieces. Add the ginger as well.
- Once you have collected your juice, stir in ½ tsp of turmeric powder.
- Add water or ice cubes if it’s too thick.
- Serve in a tall glass or mason jar.
3. Hormone Balancing Green Juice
What you need
- 1 green apple
- 1 grapefruit
- 1 cup of kale
- 1 cup of baby spinach
- 3 carrots
- 2 celery sticks
- 1 cucumber
- Masticating juicer
Directions
- As usual, begin by thoroughly washing all fresh produce.
- Peel the grapefruit, carrots and cucumber.
- Cut up into chunks your green apple, grapefruit, carrots, celery sticks and cucumber.
- Push all ingredients slowly into the juicer chute.
- Juice up!
- Pour your fresh juice into bottles or a large mason jar.
- You can add water or ice cubes to water down the juice if it’s thick.
- Enjoy!
