I’m sharing 9 tips for a healthy morning routine for PCOS. I hope this helps you dear ladies with PCOS.
How to Have a Healthy Morning Routine for PCOS
1. Wake up the Earliest You Can
Most of us wake up early anyway, because of school or work.
Waking up early not only helps you get stuff done but also helps you burn more calories and get your metabolism and stamina up.
2. Take a Glass of Water When You Wake Up
Once you wake up, you can rinse your mouth or brush your teeth and take one glass of water.
It can be cold or warm or even hot water – any you fancy.
Water hydrates us after a long night of rest and it also helps clear your digestive system and refresh your body.
You can take more than one glass of course!
3. Write Down a To-Do List or Goals for the Day
After taking water, sit down and just write.
Make a to-do list or goals you want to complete during the day. It can be as simple as putting the trash out, going to the store or watching an episode of a TV show.
You can also take this time to journal, pen down your thoughts, write how you feel or track your mood, weight loss or health journey.
4. Workout for 15-30 Minutes
Whether or not you are overweight, working out is a crucial factor to helping reduce or manage PCOS symptoms.
Working out in the morning releases endorphins, boosts your metabolism, helps you burn a lot of calories and enables you to start the day productive!
For me, I do 5 minutes each of leg workouts, butt workouts then cardio. Thereafter, I do treadmill for 15 minutes on an incline. Try your best to workout at least 4/7 days of the week. You can take a break on your period days.
You can do aerobic exercises like walking, dancing or riding a bike. HIIT workouts like burpees and mountain climbers are great too!
The point is to get your heart rate up and sweat like crazy. That’s why I don’t recommend focusing only on mind-body exercises like yoga or Pilates. You also must do sweat-inducing workouts when you have PCOS.
5. Make an Apple Cider Vinegar Drink or a PCOS Herbal Tea
After working out, make yourself this apple cider vinegar drink:
- Daily Apple Cider Vinegar Drink: Get a glass of hot water, add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (where to get it), 1 teaspoon organic honey (where to get it), ½ of a fresh lemon squeezed and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder (where to get it). Stir and sip.
I also love herbal tea and I’d like to share a mix that’s wonderful: PCOS Herbal Tea Blend Recipe

While sipping, you can do something like check your mail or phone messages. Or, just look out the window and relax.
6. Shower and Dress Up
Cleanse your body by taking a nice shower. Use your favorite shower products and do everything you need to do – exfoliating, shaving, moisturizing, etc.

7. Eat your Meal
Once you’re showered and dressed, make yourself a healthy PCOS breakfast. I have a wide variety of options to choose from here: 10 PCOS Breakfast Recipes
A simple breakfast of one poached egg with mashed avocado on whole grain toast and a cup of coffee is perfect. Or, try oatmeal topped with nuts and fresh fruit.
Basically, make sure to include protein, healthy fat, a bit of carb and antioxidants.
8. Take your Vitamins
Don’t forget to take your vitamins and any PCOS meds like metformin!
I stopped taking birth control and use alternative supplements. Useful supplements for PCOS include:
- Inositol (where to get it)– manages insulin resistance and helps with weight loss, hirsutism and ovulation
- Folic acid (where to get it)– for a healthy reproductive system, fertility, regular periods and ovulation
- Vitex (where to get it) – helps regulate irregular periods and balance hormones
- Omega 3’s (where to get it) – an all-round supplement for PCOS. It helps with weight loss, PCOS acne, PCOS hair loss, hyperpigmentation, fertility, insulin resistance and more

This is a helpful routine even if I didn’t have PCOS! I like the idea of being in routine to start the day and put my health first. I am excited to try the ACV drink and see if it makes a difference for me! Thanks for the tips!
