- ¼ tsp matcha green tea powder
- ½ tsp bentonite clay

12. DIY Avocado Face Mask for Detox
Avocado is not just a creamy food most of us love to gobble up, it’s also a perfect face mask ingredient!
It has Vitamin E & healthy fats that moisturize skin, reduce acne inflammation and reduce signs of aging.
Avocado also contains glutathione which helps lighten skin and remove hyperpigmentation, dark spots and uneven patches.
Oatmeal helps soothe skin and it has saponins (natural cleansing compounds) that absorb excess oils and dirt from the pores.
Bentonite clay is a detoxifying clay that when mixed with a liquid such as witch hazel, which we are using in this recipe, swells and releases many skin friendly charged minerals stuck in it to create a gunk-sucking paste. By gunk, I mean anything from stale sebum to heavy metals and chemical residues from the environment & conventional skin care products.
The other ingredients include witch hazel, which is an astringent that helps unclog and tighten the skin & also activates the bentonite clay, as well as avocado oil, which helps moisturize your skin & plump up skin cells to the max so it doesn’t feel any kind of dry after masking.
What You Need
- ½ tbsp avocado
- 1 tsp colloidal oatmeal
- 1 tsp bentonite clay
- 1 tsp witch hazel
- ¼ tsp avocado oil
- Spice grinder
- Mortar and pestle
- Non-metal spoon and bowl
- Face mask brush
Directions
- Begin by grinding rolled oats in a spice grinder to create powdered oats, also known as colloidal oatmeal.
- Now get a mortar and pestle and add in the avocado, colloidal oatmeal, bentonite clay, witch hazel and avocado oil.
- Mash everything up till you get a paste.
- Transfer the paste into a clean bowl.
- Apply onto a clean face.
- Let it dry for about 10-20 minutes then rinse off very well.
- Any remaining face mask can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days maximum.
